What is the Rolls-Royce I Accelerator?

Rolls-Royce have partnered with EDI to create this hybrid work experience programme for students interested in degree apprenticeships in business or engineering. You’ll get to work on a live project brief from a truly iconic business and learn about Rolls-Royce’s nuclear division. With demand for energy rising, while the world needs to reduce carbon emissions, many nations are investing in nuclear solutions – it’s an exciting time to be part of.

You’ll gain invaluable insight into nuclear engineering and business roles and develop skills transferable to the world of work. Complete the week and you’ll also have the opportunity to be fast-tracked through the first stage of the degree apprenticeship application process.

Date: 6th November – 10th November 2023
Location: Hybrid (4 days virtual 1 day in Derby)
Time: 9am – 4pm Every Day

Who should apply?

Black, Asian and ethnic minority students in year 13
Students with:
Minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade 4 including Maths, English Language (and Science for Engineering)
Predicted A Levels/ BTEC equivalent to 96 – 112 UCAS Points
For engineering programmes – A Level Maths and Physics at grade C or BTEC based Engineering equivalent
Due to the nature of our work, you’ll also need the legal right to live and work in the UK.

How will the Rolls Royce I Accelerator work?

Each student will work in a team of five to develop a solution to a challenge, presenting this back to senior leaders on the last day of their hybrid work experience.

Various workshops will be delivered throughout the week and students will get the opportunity to develop their professional network.
